Lizzo is making waves with her dramatic weight loss, showing off her new look in a series of Instagram posts this weekend.
The 36-year-old “Tempo” singer looked noticeably trimmer in a carousel of high-angle flirty selfies posted Friday.
“Last night I wore milkmaid braids,” she captioned a set of snaps showing her wearing pigtail braids and an off-the-shoulder blouse.
On Saturday, she shared a video to her Instagram Story, flaunting her slimmer figure in the gym.
Lizzo responded to speculation in mid-September that she’d lost weight by taking type 2 diabetes drug Ozempic, saying instead she’d been busting her butt for five months with a combination of weight training and a calorie-deficit diet.
A few weeks later, she seemingly hit back after “South Park” made fun of her weight in an episode that used “Lizzo” as the name of a new diet suppressor drug. Just before Halloween, she posted a video of herself dressed up as a box of the fake Ozempic alternative while giving the middle finger, as “South Park” character Cartman lurked in the background.
Lizzo had long been known as an icon of body positivity until some started questioning her public persona after she was sued in 2023 by several former backup dancers who claimed the singer had weight-shamed them. The lawsuit also accused her of sexual harassment and other mistreatment.
In response to Lizzo’s request to have the case tossed, a judge ruled in February it was allowed to move forward to trial, though with certain allegations of fat-shaming dismissed.
Soon after, the lawsuit was reportedly put on a months-long hold as Lizzo attempted to appeal.
